Artist

After more than fifteen years in Berlin, Francesco Devincenti has recently moved his studio to Friuli, continuing to develop projects and collaborations between Italy and Europe.

His artistic practice moves through dub, dub techno, jungle, garage and sound system culture, drawing from studio practices and mixing techniques developed in Jamaica and their later evolutions within contemporary electronic music.

The research looks at the work of Jamaican pioneers and sound engineers, their approach to building a mix, and the creative use of technology as a musical instrument.

His productions and sets move between dub techno, jungle, garage, breakbeat and other forms of contemporary electronic music, crossing different genres and influences.

Gasolio Dubplate Series
Alongside his work as an artist, he runs Gasolio Dubplate Series, an independent project dedicated to contemporary electronic production, limited editions and new interpretations of dub through a dialogue with techno, jungle, garage and other forms of electronic music.
